300 ohm headphone amplifiers

300 ohms is one of the standard values found in high impedance professional headphones. This is not the highest indicator in this category, but it is very popular: the sound quality with such characteristics can be more than decent even by professional standards, and the signal power is required significantly less than for 600 Ohm “ears” (see the relevant paragraph). However, if the amplifier is not designed for such resistances, it will not be able to provide either the proper volume or even the full sound quality (reduced power can distort the frequency response). Therefore, for 300-ohm headphones, it is worth buying only amplifiers where the possibility of using them with such headphones is directly stated — that is, models from this category. At the same time, such devices, usually, are quite capable of working with lower impedances — 150 ohms, or even less than 100 ohms (that is, already with low-impedance headphones).
