Compared: fiberglass is noticeably lighter than steel and does not rust, but it falls short in "rib stiffness" and tends to break rather than bend under critical impact; compared to aluminum, it excels in elasticity and resistance to inversion, avoiding permanent bends, though it may be slightly heavier at equal stiffness; in relation to carbon fiber (carbon), fiberglass is more flexible and "durable" on impact, cheaper and thicker at the same stiffness level, whereas carbon is lighter and stiffer for premium storm models but is more expensive and breaks "clean" without warning deformations.
