— fiberglass combines corrosion resistance, flexibility, and stable performance in cold temperatures: during gusts of wind, these ribs spring and return the canopy to its shape without a "bend memory," and they withstand moisture and salt mist without coatings. This solution is valued in storm and golf umbrellas, as well as in city walking sticks, where wind resistance and comfort are important. Fiberglass feels more flexible than steel and doesn't fear rust, although it slightly falls short in "sharp" rib rigidity; in terms of weight, it's often lighter than steel and comparable to aluminum, but with the same rigidity, it may require a thicker profile. Compared to carbon fiber, it is heavier and softer, but more impact-resistant and usually significantly more affordable.
