Topaz

— a relatively inexpensive gemstone, distinguished by its heaviness, which creates an additional impression of solidity. Interestingly, yellow or golden pink has long been considered the classic colour of topaz, but blue topaz is very popular in modern jewelry. They are called "London topaz", although formally this name is not suitable for all such stones, but only for blue topaz with a very saturated colour.

Note that this mineral should not be confused with rauchtopaz (see the relevant paragraph) — these are two completely different minerals, differing both in appearance and in value (topaz is much more expensive).
