Pearl bracelets

— one of the oldest and widely known precious minerals. Natural pearls are of organic origin: in some molluscs, a grain of sand or another particle that has fallen into the shell is overgrown with layers of mother-of-pearl, eventually forming a pearl. In the old days, such jewelry was extremely highly valued (not least because of the difficulty of mining), but nowadays, natural pearls are industrially produced and much more affordable. An artificial analogue of this material is also produced; it costs even less, but it may not look worse.

The classic colour of pearls is white or pinkish, with characteristic tints; other shades are theoretically possible, but they are much less common.
