A magnificent, animated bee brooch inspired by the colourful insect jewellery of the early 1900s. It’s bejewelled with twinkling rose cut diamonds (approx. 1.8ct total), blue sapphires (approx. 5.2c more→t total) and two green peridot eyes (approx. 0.10ct each).  Insect jewellery grew in popularity at the turn of the 20 th Century due to a renewed love of the natural world following the vast urbanisation of the country and were often decorated with colourful gemstones to enhance their beauty and value.  The sapphires are a vibrant royal blue and contrast beautifully with the diamonds.
