Asus RT-AX53U (90IG06P0-MO3510)
![]() |
One of the comparatively affordable and well-balanced models of high-speed dual-band wireless routers from Asus, model year 2021. It belongs to the AX1800 class models, fully compliant with the Wi-Fi 6 standard. Positioned as a mid-range product, intended for creating high-performance household wireless networks with low latency. Also capable of supporting cable network infrastructure.
Equipped with one WAN, three Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, and a USB 2.0 port for 3G/4G/LTE-USB modems, HDD/Flash drives, and printers. Thanks to the use of a powerful network processor and dual-channel dual-band radio modules, the Asus RT-AX53U router provides a theoretical throughput of up to 576 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and up to 1201 Mbps when using the 5 GHz frequency.
Such speeds can be achieved in practice only when using client devices supporting MU-MIMO 2x2 and 1024-QAM quadrature modulation. Large antennas and the successful implementation of Beamforming technology allow for an increased Wi-Fi coverage area. The router supports Firewall, NAT, DHCP-, FTP-, file- and print-server functions. The Dual WAN technology enables effective redundancy and network load balancing. Equipped with a powerful built-in AiProtection cybersecurity suite (blocking malicious sites, intrusion prevention).

Bought almost a week after it went on sale, any UI or settings issues have been fixed. User-friendly interface, clear setup with explanations, in addition to setting and restricting access, if necessary, the ability to create a temporary network Bright LEDs that can be turned off by resetting the WPS button |
A normal router for my money, I connected Gigabit to it, the Samsung s20 gives out 600Mbps via WiFi 6. It works stably for half a year, Ac85p parents have not a single reboot for 3 years, I also decided to take Asus. Stability of work, DDNS from Asus, decent speed. FTP server, phone application, those who write that bright LEDs, in the settings you can turn them off with the wps button Poor torrent client, which is impossible to use |
I was very disappointed with this router. First of all, when removing the protective film from the glossy ASUS letters, more than half of them peeled off with the film. The plastic is of low quality and reminded me of cheap laptops. The mounting is poorly designed, with holes shifted towards the connectors, causing the mounted router to wobble because the center is off. The so-called Beamforming support is nothing more than a gimmick, as going one floor down results in no signal reception. The indicators glow blue, constantly blink, and are very bright, making half the room flash at night. The power adapter is an unknown no-name brand. I definitely do not recommend it! No Mount, cheap plastic, poorly glued brand letters, indicators that light up like garlands on a Christmas tree (half the room), an unrecognizable no-name block |
Asus' network equipment range has a suitable offer for any wallet thickness. Take, for example, the RT-AX53U home model, an inexpensive dual-band router that supports Wi-Fi 6 generation of wireless communications.
AX1800 class
The device belongs to the AX1800 class models - the router provides a theoretical throughput of up to 576 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and up to 1201 Mbps when using a 5 GHz carrier frequency. This supports the creation of up to three independent guest networks in each band. The network cable is connected to the router via a gigabit LAN connector. Also in the interface shelf of the model is a trio of WAN ports with a bandwidth of 1 Gbps.
USB 2.0 port
The presence of a USB 2.0 port allows you to use modems, printers and external HDDs with the router. So, in the absence of the Internet from the provider, you can “start up” the device using a 3G / LTE modem. The status of the router is displayed by LED indicators on the top panel of the case. In the dark, they blink too brightly, but, fortunately, the indication can be turned off in the settings. Asus RT-AX53U operation management is tied to the web interface or the ASUS Router mobile application.
Positive impression
The model incorporates support for MU-MIMO and Beamforming technologies to improve the performance of wireless networks, Firewall, NAT, DHCP, FTP, file and print server functions are implemented. In addition, Dual WAN technology enables efficient redundancy and network load balancing. A separate plus goes to the router for the pre-installed AiProtection Classic cyber protection service, which checks settings from a security point of view, blocks access to malicious resources, detects and blocks infected devices on the local network. On the whole, the Asus RT-AX53U gives the impression of a well-balanced product without obvious flaws.
