The first generation of rugged Apple smartwatches, introduced in 2022 as a response to the needs of professional athletes and fans of an active lifestyle. The model was designed from scratch for use in the mountains, underwater, and in other challenging environments where regular smartwatches fall short. The target audience includes marathoners, triathletes, mountain guides, and divers.

The device features a large case (dimensions 49x44x14.4 mm) made of aerospace-grade titanium weighing 61 grams, with raised edges to protect the flat sapphire glass from side impacts. The OLED display supports Always-On technology, has a resolution of 410x502 pixels, and delivers a peak brightness of 2000 nits. This is twice as bright as standard models, which is critical for visibility in bright sun or snow.

Performance is driven by the S8 SiP chipset with a 64-bit dual-core architecture. Among the unique elements of Apple Watch Ultra is a programmable Action Button for quickly starting workouts, a pair of speakers with 40% louder volume, and a three-microphone array with wind noise reduction algorithms. For underwater use, it integrates a water temperature sensor and a depth gauge certified for dives up to 40 meters. Battery capacity is doubled compared to regular models and provides up to 36 hours of operation in standard mode or 18 hours with always-on LTE.

The battery life is low, the sensors measure values from sausage, the vibration is weak and doesn't always work. More flaws than on Xiaomi.
