I DO NOT RECOMMEND the whole new Zenbook line. For a substantial amount of money, you get terrible sound from the cooling system. I won't even mention that the fans are quite loud just with the system running, and if you open at least a browser, the noise starts to get annoying. BUT, THE MAIN DRAWBACK is some kind of crackling, clicking noise (I don't even know how to properly describe it to convey the essence) near the coolers. Working in complete silence is absolutely uncomfortable! I thought the issue was isolated, but when I compared it with a friend's UX530, we concluded that it's a problem with the current generation. By the way, regarding build quality, the same friend's lower plastic part on the display came unstuck. And this in a laptop for €1,350. In the 5-year-old Zenbook UX31, there were no such problems at all! I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING! They are cutting corners on everything! Performance Cooling system! I don't really like the name ultrabook, but it fits this Asus device just perfectly. The perfect machine for carrying around and traveling, including long trips and use of air transport. This little guy is 16 mm thick and weighs only 1250 grams. When I first read its specifications, the thought immediately flashed in my mind - "Hello, MacBooks!" )) But Apple devices don't suit everyone, and serious engineering software just isn't released for iOS, which is essential for my work. After all, this is not just a compact laptop; it features a Core i5-7200U processor running at frequencies from 2.5 to 3.1 GHz, 8GB of the latest generation RAM, and a high-speed SSD M.2 drive with a capacity of 256 GB. In fact, this system provides significantly above-average performance and is quite capable of smoothly running Autodesk Eagle or AutoCAD Electrical 2018. Of course, working full-time on a small 14-inch monitor is challenging, even though it has high Full HD resolution and excellent detail. Another undeniably strong point of this laptop is its autonomy; in reading/web browsing mode, it easily works for 7-8 hours. On the shelf or in "out-of-the-box" condition, the metal body looks very cool, but it quickly gets covered in fingerprints. Literally everything is visible on the nice concentric design, so you have to wipe it constantly. Otherwise, a "swan" turns into an "ugly duckling" after a day of heavy use. There's also an issue with the cooling system. It does its job and does it well, but it makes a noticeable noise. In the office or on the road, you don't pay attention to it, but late in the evening at home, such a sound is irritating. |
