How to choose a gaming keyboardLet's look at the differences between the types of switches and additional equipment for gaming keyboards
Model overview based on user reviews
The GamePro MK180 is a compact, wired gaming keyboard that offers a high-quality build and customizable features, making it a popular choice among users. It features mechanical Outemu Red switches that are quiet and smooth, although some users find the hot-swap functionality challenging due to the lack of proper sockets. The keyboard's RGB backlighting is highly customizable, especially appealing with white keycaps, and it includes a convenient volume control wheel. While the plastic case keeps the price affordable, it remains sturdy and stable. Some users noted issues with the thin keycaps and loud stabilizers, but overall, the keyboard is praised for its functionality and value for money.

good model, like it

After using it for 3 months, everything is satisfactory, it works quietly, took the candles on the red, the assembly is good, it doesn't crack or creak, so far I'm satisfied.
High-quality build, ability to customize the keyboard
I can’t say yet.

Pretty good quality keyboard for the money, I recommend it

Very nice keyboard. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of workmanship, the material of the keycaps, the rich set with the ability to combine the keyboard's color scheme in different ways. The backlight is quite high-quality, especially with white keycaps. It is lubricated and silenced from the factory, not very effectively, of course, but for this money you shouldn't expect anything else. It is convenient that the case provides the ability to output the cable from the right, left or in the middle.

The keyboard is terrible
14 December 2024
When choosing a keyboard, I was impressed by the presence of hot-swap for further customization and maintenance. And how disappointed I was when I started removing the switches. It's hard to explain without being rude, but I'll try.
1. Extracting the switch with the included puller without damaging it is practically impossible.
2. There is no hot-swap socket; instead, there are just two tinned holes on the board.
3. Returning the switch without bending the pins doesn't always work either.
4. It's unknown how long such a hot-swap will maintain contact without oxidation.
5. It took almost a whole day to lubricate the switches, and by the end, my nerves were wearing thin.
The included pullers, thin keycaps, and loud stabilizers also didn't impress.

Hot-swap is dull, stabilizers are loud, keycaps are thin

Classic Red Switches by Otemu

GamePro is a Ukrainian brand that has been producing gaming peripherals and accessories since 2017. In 2024, the company introduced four affordable mechanical keyboards of the MK series to the Ukrainian market, equipped with classic mechanical Otemu Red switches and Hot Swap support. In this review, we will talk about the compact TKL modification MK180. Considering its extremely attractive price, the model looks more than worthy - both visually (especially in the white version with multi-colored keys) and in functionality.

Gasket Mount Construction

The MK180 features soft-touch double-molded ABS keycaps, a two-layer EVA noise-dampening foam padding, and a Gasket Mount switch plate with damping inserts. The RGB backlighting is highly customizable and offers a variety of modes. The USB-C cable is easily detachable, and the side of the case features two additional keys and a convenient volume control wheel. The package also includes a set of replacement keycaps, features that were previously only found on premium keyboards.

Plastic case

Of course, to keep the price affordable, some compromises had to be made. In this case, the savings affected the case - it is completely plastic, without metal inserts. However, this is not critical, since the keyboard remains quite heavy for the TKL format (800 grams) and, thanks to the stable legs, does not slide on the table. Some users note that the Hot Swap system is inferior in convenience to more expensive solutions, but with rare replacement of switches and careful handling, there are no problems. Overall, this is an extremely interesting and affordable mechanical keyboard, which would cost several times more from brands like Razer.
