The Gigabyte Z790 EAGLE AX motherboard is a classic high-end ATX board designed for 12th and 13th generation Intel Core processors using the LGA 1700 socket. It is built on the Z790 chipset and is aimed at enthusiasts and gamers who value high performance, reliability and support for the latest technologies for reasonable money. Unlike most models with the flagship Z790 chipset, this board belongs rather to the mid-price segment and cannot boast of an exquisite design, but provides approximately the same level of performance as more expensive analogs.
For example, it is equipped with a fairly productive 14-phase power subsystem, is compatible with high-speed DDR5-7600 RAM, supports the PCI-E 5.0 bus (for video cards) and does not limit the user in overclocking. The board stands out with its powerful cooling system, including large radiators on the VRM and the chipset itself, as well as the ability to install additional fans and radiators for mid-size or large-sized liquid cooling systems.
The set of interfaces for connecting other components is organized as follows: 4 slots for RAM with support for up to 256 GB of memory (4x64 GB), 3 connectors for compact M.2 SSD drives (1xSATA/PCI-E 4x, 2xPCI-E 4x), 4 SATA 3 connectors for classic HDD/SSD drives, and one reinforced slot for a video card. To ensure a high-quality network connection, the board is equipped with a built-in Wi-Fi 6E module and a 2.5-gigabit LAN controller from Realtek, which provides high speed and stability of the network in both wired and wireless modes.
