The 2019 high-end mobile photography champion of smartphones. The base model P30 is armed with a “three-story” main camera module with a leading 40 MP sensor according to the RYB scheme, a “wide” one with a resolution of 16 MP and an 8 MP telephoto lens. Huawei P30 128GB is head and shoulders above the nearest competitors in the night photography genre and demonstrates high-quality results when shooting at high ISOs (the “ceiling” of the smartphone’s matrix sensitivity is 204,800 ISO units).
Selfie frames the device “clicks” on the 32 MP front camera. It is also used to authenticate the owner of the device by face. The screen of the mobile gadget is stretched diagonally by 6.1". The substrate for it was an OLED-matrix of FullHD + format with a teardrop cutout in the upper part. Also, the smartphone turned out to be uncompromisingly fast in terms of performance — the flagship Kirin 980 chip, in conjunction with 6/128 GB of memory, turns absolutely everything that comes to hand. The degree of protection of the “shell” of the device from external influences is indicated by the IP53 mark. The smartphone is powered by a 3650 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 22.5 watts. The operating system on board the device is Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.1 shell.
Almost Pro
The flagship smartphone Huawei P30 Pro has become another challenge to the camera phone market and immediately captured the first lines of the ratings of the best cameras. Unfortunately, no less interesting, and in some ways even more attractive younger brother Huawei P30 has remained in its shadow.
Not only comfortable, but also beautiful
The smartphone is noticeably different in design from the P30 Pro, and these differences are entirely positive. The device turned out to be smaller, so it fits more comfortably in the hand. It does not have side edges narrowed to sharpness, they are slightly rounded, which adds points to ergonomics — the smartphone lies firmly in the hand and does not strive to slip onto the floor. The design of the back panel is similar in many respects: the cover is gradient with overflow, plus the texture of the substrate under the glass also shimmers (like liquid metal), which gives the colour a three-dimensional texture. The case itself received protection against splashes and dust according to the IP53 standard.
OLED screen between "great" and "excellent"
The front-facing 2340x1080 OLED screen with a wide colour gamut looks somewhere between "chic" and "excellent". You can't expect anything else from a premium smartphone. In terms of hardware, we have full hardware: the top-end Kirin 980 processor of our own production, the Mali-G76 ten-core video chip and 6 GB of RAM. In the latter case, I would still like 8 GB. It's not a necessity, but flagships have taught the best of the best. Yes, and the margin of durability will not be superfluous.
The new standard in mobile photography
The fingerprint scanner from the back wall has moved to the front, under the display glass. But there are no fewer elements on the back either: there are three cameras, as well as a fairly bright two-tone LED flash and autofocus sensors. The Huawei P30 camera knows almost all the tricks that the flagship P30 Pro does: stitching shots with different exposures, optical and hybrid zoom, manual angle change, improved artificial intelligence, etc. In general, the main camera here is half a step lower than that of its older brother , (and he was recently the best camera phone on the market), but the front camera is the same.
Skimmed P30 Pro
Of the other goodies, we have a USB-C connection, an NFC chip, and wireless charging. Taking into account the price of $800, the buyer receives a luxurious mobile device in terms of design with excellent overall characteristics, an excellent screen, a powerful hardware platform, decent cameras, sound and battery life. Yes, the camera here is simpler than that of the Pro version, but its capabilities are more than enough for most users, because it still remains at the level of top solutions.
