The Chinese electronics giant continues to delight with high-quality performant and ergonomic equipment. This time, a fairly powerful 2017 Ideapad 520 15 laptop fell into the field of our attention.
Design and ergonomics
The design of the machine is simple and concise. The outer surface is made of metal, three colours are offered: grey, golden and bronze. The dimensions are standard 378x260x22.9 mm, the model does not indulge in a thin body, the weight is also average — 2.2 kg.
The touchpad is comfortable, the response is excellent, the technology of smart gestures is present.
Equipment
The model is equipped with Full HD display with IPS matrix and anti-reflective coating. The picture is juicy, the eyes rejoice and do not get tired for a long time.
The hardware is powerful enough to pull heavy processes, including graphics: on board 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 7th generation Intel Core i7 processor with a core clock speed of 2.5 GHz. The graphics accelerator is built-in — Intel, as well as discrete — NVIDIA GeForce 940 MX with 4 GB of video memory.
Sound design is provided by 2 stereo speakers with Dolby Audio technology from Harman. The sound is really implemented at a high level, as well as video recording. The high-resolution front camera of 1280x720 pixels provides a clear legible picture.
In addition to the 1TB SATA HDD, the machine has a 256GB SATA SSD. Together, they quite productively solve the problems of storing information and quickly accessing it.
Connectors and connections
The laptop supports all the latest types of connectors and connections, except for the outdated USB 2.0 and VGA. Implemented a fingerprint scanner, support for fast Wi-Fi, USB Type C, card reading through a 4 in 1 slot.
But the model does not indulge in battery life. The lithium-polymer battery can provide a maximum of up to 5 hours of full operation.
From the factory, the laptop is offered under OS DOS. For optimal performance, the manufacturer recommends installing Windows 10.
In general, the Lenovo Ideapad 520 15 is good in almost everything, if not for modest battery life and a slightly higher price than its peers. But here, as they say, everyone chooses to their liking.
