A network plane from the "budget" series of Makita MT tools, designed for amateur use in home workshops. The tool has a power of 500 W and a blade rotation speed of up to 16,000 rpm. The planing depth adjustment scale (up to 2 mm) is marked with a step of 0.5 mm. The sole width is 82 mm. In addition to planing flat surfaces, the Makita M1901 plane can chamfer at an angle of 45 degrees (for this purpose, there is a V-shaped groove on the sole) and select quarters up to 9 mm deep.

The folding shoe, which is located at the rear of the sole, allows you to place the tool on the surface until the knife comes to a complete stop. Chips are ejected to the right side.
