A cordless professional-grade planer that can be used to align surfaces, fit wooden parts, chamfer the edges of lumber, and make quarter (rebate) cuts up to 9 mm deep. The device is equipped with a brushless motor that rotates the drum with a knife at a speed of up to 15,000 rpm. The support sole is 82 mm wide. The planing depth is adjustable from zero to 2 mm (the regulator scale is marked in 0.1 mm increments, which allows the DeWALT DCP580P2 planer to be used for operations that require precision and accuracy).
Shavings are ejected through an opening on the right side of the body. The nozzle is round and complies with the AIRLOCK system, so DeWALT construction vacuum cleaners can be connected to it. DeWALT 18V XR batteries are used as power sources (two 5 Ah batteries are included). In addition to the battery and charger, the kit includes a parallel stop, dust collector and TSTAK plastic box.
