Model overview based on user reviews
The Microsoft ARC Touch Mouse is a uniquely designed mouse, ideal for laptop users due to its compact and portable nature. Its standout feature is the bendable body, allowing it to transform from a flat shape to a curved one when in use. The mouse features a touch trackpad instead of a traditional wheel, which can take some time to get used to. Its BlueTrack sensor ensures high precision on various surfaces, making it versatile for different environments. While the design is praised for its innovation and aesthetics, some users find the grip uncomfortable, as it requires a different hand position compared to conventional mice. The mouse is lightweight, which may initially feel unusual but ultimately reduces hand fatigue. It's not ideal for gaming but is well-suited for office and travel use. Opinions are divided, with some users loving its unique design and functionality, while others find it less practical. Overall, it's recommended to try it before purchasing to ensure it meets personal preferences.

Cons

Definitely buy it. But I tested it first. Obviously not everyone will like it.

In my opinion, a great mouse, outstanding design. Suitable primarily for laptops, as well as for the office. It can hardly be used for games. It is certainly necessary to at least hold it in your hands before purchasing, since when used it is absolutely different from other models, some may not like it. I think this The model will divide users into those who really liked it and those who really didn’t like it. Because it doesn’t look like all other mice when working. You even have to hold it differently.
Amazing mouse. First of all, design. Then, functional qualities. Although I use it with a desktop, I think this is an ideal mouse for a laptop. When turned off, it looks more like a small remote control or a mobile phone. You get used to it very quickly, then it’s no longer clear how I have used other models before. The ergonomics (despite the unusual appearance) are excellent.
It takes some time to get used to the grip. It is different from what you use with the usual rounded mouse models. You also need to get used to the touch "trackball" (which may be the most difficult part). Moreover, although it may not be a disadvantage, the very light weight of the mouse can initially be a somewhat unpleasant feature, making it hard to adjust and gauge the strength of movement at first. However, because of its light weight, you eventually realize that your hand doesn't get tired at all.

I was amazed by the prices at which local vendors "offer" it ((( Bought in Canada for 31CAD (~30USD)
Design. That's probably all...
Uncomfortable grip: it sits diagonally in the hand, requiring you to bend the index finger while extending the middle finger. It's like giving a certain gesture, haha))) This is also an issue with Apple's mice, which in politically correct America seems to be done to cater to the many left-handers there. The touch "wheel" becomes tactilely irritating with intensive use, and it's easy to miss it.

Really weird mouse

When it comes to mouse design, this is usually not a field for experimentation. Unless, of course, these are game models. For many people, a mouse is a working tool for which the main thing is convenience and reliability. The more interesting is Microsoft's attempt to make an unusual mouse that will be both light, symmetrical, compact and equally comfortable for hands of different sizes.

Your laptop's best friend

ARC Touch Mouse is positioned as a manipulator for mobile computers that will fit in a laptop bag and will not stick out. Microsoft solved this common problem quite elegantly — the body of the mouse is made of bendable materials, so in working condition the mouse arches and takes on its usual convex shape, and when the power is turned off, it straightens and becomes flat.

Transformer

Interestingly, only the back of the mouse flexes, while the top with buttons and touch trackpad keeps one flat shape. The touchpad replaces the mouse wheel, allowing it to work correctly in both Windows and MacOS without additional crutches.

Touchpad instead of a traditional wheel

The ARC Touch Mouse buttons are made of glossy plastic, the touch strip between them is metal, and the rest of the surface is finished with a soft touch coating that is pleasant to the touch. Outwardly, the mouse looks cool and does not cause complaints in daily use, only the velvety coating of the main part of the body irritates. It collects dust and quickly spoils the appearance.

High precision BlueTrack sensor

The ARC Touch Mouse sensor isn't easy either. It's built with BlueTrack technology, which delivers high-contrast imaging and allows the mouse to work clearly on any surface: carpets, sofas, lacquered tables, marble floors, anywhere. In addition, it is not particularly sensitive to pollution, so the mouse is well adapted to accompany its owner on the road.

Premium product

Of course, you will have to pay for all these goodies: a mouse from Microsoft will cost several times more than a regular wireless model from Logtech, Genius or HP. At the same time, it has a shorter range — 5 metres against the standard 10. Although, it is designed purely for use with laptops, so this is unlikely to be a problem.

Additional features mouse Microsoft ARC Touch Mouse:
  • BlueTrack technology lets you work on any surface
  • Battery indicator
Features of this model:

Microsoft's ARC Touch Mouse is made from flexible materials. To turn on the manipulator, it is necessary to bend it in the form of an arch.

In place of the scroll wheel is a touchpad. With it, you can scroll through the pages you are browsing, and you can also configure special areas to perform additional functions. The mouse has a small USB receiver that attaches to it with a magnet.
