The manufacturer calls the model a multisport watch with smart device functions, which are designed for real sports fans. And to make them strong and reliable, only high-quality materials are used here: the case is water-resistant and made of glass-fibre reinforced polymer, while the bezel, buttons and buckle on the strap are made of stainless steel. Keep in mind that this is not exactly a traditional smartwatch, so its capabilities are somewhat limited.

The 1.2-inch TFT display is not touch-sensitive — the buttons on the case are responsible for control. And when connected to a smartphone, the gadget will only show the weather forecast, allow you to remotely control music playback and duplicate incoming calls and messages, without the ability to answer them. But for training here you can find anything you want. With over 130 sport modes, Polar Vantage M2 comes with GPS and a heart rate sensor to give you a visual representation of your body.

Users have access to the FitSpark workout guide (a ready-made daily plan based on your training history, recovery and fitness), load, stress and endurance assessment, Polar Flow running programme with training plan and support exercises, FuelWise energy replenishment function that estimates the amount needed carbohydrates and water balance, as well as Nightly Recharge sleep monitoring, showing how well you recovered overnight after a day's stress. Finally, the watch also performs well in terms of battery life: a single charge of a 230 mAh battery will last up to 7 days in active mode with continuous heart rate tracking. In training mode using GPS and wrist-based heart rate, this time is reduced to 40 hours.
