Expecting restock
Inexpensive internal (embedded) 3.5" hard drive with a capacity of 500 GB from the line of consumer HDD drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 model 2011 with a standard SATA3 interface. Positioned as a product in the basic price category, aimed at use as part of universal home and multi-purpose entry-level office configurations. Its capacity is quite enough to store office documentation, work project files, small photo collections, as well as audio and video content of SD/HD resolution. The Seagate Barracuda ST3500413AS hard drive can act as a computer system drive, but it is used in conjunction with a more powerful system SSD. -disk is preferable (especially for Windows 8/8.1/10/11). Thanks to the use of proprietary technologies and high platter rotation speed (7200 rpm), it demonstrates moder...ate sequential read/write speed (up to 110 MB/s). buffer memory (16 MB), provides low (for HDD drives) positioning delays of ~9 ms. It demonstrates an average level of energy consumption (less than 8 W in intensive use mode), therefore, to maintain its optimal thermal conditions, proper organization of air flows (light airflow is sufficient) is necessary. Able to operate for a long time at low/moderate loads (warranty period is 5 years).

There were different drives - WD, a few Samsungs, about 5 Seagates. But in my personal [censored] the ST3500413AS took second place after the famous 7200.11 series of the same company.
p/s It is obvious that among Seagate with SATA3 support there may be successful examples, but I do not recommend purchasing.
quiet and cold
terrible graph of linear read speed, many "slow" sectors. Compared to the old st3500418as, the new st3500413as has over two times more sectors with an access time of 50ms (6262) than the old one with 20ms (2607). Previously, two-head drives showed uneven read speeds between the top and bottom heads, but a difference of one and a half times is a record.

I use it as a system one.
The regular model does not rise above 40C without additional cooling. Quiet. Not faster than analogues, but not slow either. There are no reassigned sectors and I hope there won’t be.
I have not found any shortcomings yet, SMART shows 170 hours of operation.

Let's see how he shows himself :)
11 February 2011
I've been using it for 5 days and everything's running smoothly, no slowdowns (Windows, games, movies, music), but the only thing that bothers me is the click sound after turning off the computer (my other drives, Samsung and Western Digital, don't have this clicking sound). If it breaks, I'll let you know.
1. Low price (1 Terabyte bought for 30 EUR).
2. Does not heat up during operation; there's a 12 cm fan facing my disk (Everest sensor shows 29°C for the disk and 24°C in the room).
3. Suitable for installing Windows.
4. My disk has the latest firmware CC46 installed.
5. Contains 2 platters of 500 GB each and is optimally tuned for torrent distribution and downloading, meaning when a large number of users access data on the disk from torrents, it won’t slow down or crash.
6. This model has new mechanics inside.
1. Connected to the Sata2 port, formatted the drive with Acronis software, and partitioned it into 3 parts: Drive C: Windows-xp (25GB), Drive D: Games (160GB), Drive E: Storage Dump (740GB). When I started filling up 740GB with music, the drive began making a suspicious metallic knocking sound, a short TUK-TUK-TUK, but after copying smaller files, the knocking stopped!
2. After shutting down the computer, there's one loud metallic TUK sound.
3. The Smart check passes without errors (why, then, is it making noise!?).
