New for 2023 from TP-LINK, the Tapo C211 network camera is an ideal choice in the entry-level and mid-price segments. Despite its modest dimensions (87x85x118 mm), it offers an extensive range of functions.
TP-LINK Tapo C211 easily synchronizes with a smartphone via Wi-Fi, has a stable mobile application and is integrated into Google Home and Amazon Alexa smart home systems. This allows you to control the camera with your voice. Both a memory card slot (up to 512 GB) and Tapo Care cloud storage are available for saving videos.
Advanced Features
This model is a PTZ camera with the ability to remotely control pan (360 degrees) and tilt (114 degrees), allowing you to cover the entire room and monitor moving objects. It recognizes movement, a person in the frame, and even a child's cry, which is especially useful for parents. You can customize the surveillance area, for example, limiting it to a crib.
When an unwanted presence is detected, the camera activates an 88 dB siren. There is also a function to darken certain areas of the frame to protect privacy.
High image quality
The camera transmits and records video in a resolution of 2304x1296 pixels at 30 frames per second (default 15 frames per second). In low light conditions, IR illumination is turned on at a distance of up to 9 meters.
Among the shortcomings, it should be noted the lack of a LAN port, which most competitors have. Overall, the TP-LINK Tapo C211 is a well-balanced choice for home video surveillance, providing convenience and ease of use.
