Active noise cancellation and good battery life.
Advanced TWS earbuds in an in-ear format, equipped with 11mm dynamic drivers. The speakers are tuned by the Harman AudioEFX team for better sound and support HD codecs (specifically, aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, LC3). The earbuds also feature support for Dolby Atmos and spatial audio. For pairing with external devices, the Xiaomi Buds 5 rely on the Bluetooth v5.4 wireless communication module.
The model includes active noise cancellation (ANC) using three microphones in each earbud, capable of suppressing wind noise up to 12 m/s. The noise cancellation also functions for voice transmission during calls via a paired smartphone. The earbuds support touch controls, offer basic dust and water resistance (IP54 rating), and boast decent battery life. Without the noise cancellation system, the audio playback time is approximately 6 hours, and with noise cancellation, it's about 3.5 hours. The charging case extends the battery life to 30 and 24 hours, respectively. The lower part of the case is matte, while the top is glossy.
