— the ability to shoot from a rifle in fully automatic mode – continuously until the trigger is held or until the magazine is empty (the mode with a fixed burst length is not considered automatic in this case).The automatic firing function is extremely popular in AEGs (see “Type”) intended for airsoft: the vast majority of such models copy assault rifles (machine guns) and must support the appropriate firing mode. However, there are other types of airgins with this function – gas cylinders and PCP. In such cases, the use of automatic mode is primarily for entertainment; in this case, the weapon may well look not like a machine gun, but like a classic rifle, and in some models, firing in bursts requires not only a tank or gas cylinder, but also a battery, as in the AEG.
