Vermeer processors
AMD Zen3 Vermeer (5th Gen)
— the first family of AMD processors built on the Zen3 microarchitecture. This microarchitecture was announced in early October 2020; like its predecessor, it uses the 7nm process technology. At the same time, the creators managed to improve a number of key characteristics — in particular, increase the number of instructions per cycle and the maximum clock frequency (in overclocking mode). At the same time, Zen3 Vermeer processors have retained compatibility with the connectors used in Zen2 chips, and can be easily installed to replace them (the maximum that may be required is a motherboard BIOS update). And the creators directly call the top model in the family “the best gaming chip in the world” (at the time of release), which is confirmed by high performance in a number of games.
