Sound cards with coaxial output
Coaxial S/P-DIF
— output for digital audio signal transmission via coaxial electrical cable. By default, such an output uses an RCA connector, but you should not confuse it with an RCA audio output (see the relevant paragraph): in this case, a different signal transmission format is used, and the entire data stream is transmitted through one connector. In addition, a cable with special shielding is highly desirable for connection; a regular RCA cord is poorly suited for this.S/P-DIF capabilities allow multi-channel audio to be transmitted over a single wire. At the same time, the electrical connection is more susceptible to interference than the optical one (see "Optical S / P-DIF"), but the coaxial cable is not as delicate as the optical fiber, and does not require special care in handling.
