— manipulators that allow wireless connection. To do this, use the Bluetooth interface or a radio channel, in some models both options are supported (for more details, see "Connection interface"). Also note that this category includes both purely wireless models and combined devices that also allow a wired connection (see the relevant paragraph) — usually due to a detachable cable. In general, the wireless format of operation is much more convenient than the wired one: for communication you do not need a cable that can get tangled and cling, and the range of reliable communication even in the "weakest" models is several metres. However, mice in this category are noticeably more expensive than purely wired devices with similar characteristics; in addition, the time of their continuous operation is limited by the charge of the batteries or the built-in accumulator. On the other hand, the operating time on a single battery charge in modern mice is measured in days, or even tens of days, and on one set of batteries — months or even years. And in the mentioned combined models, this moment is completely irrelevant — if necessary, they can receive energy from an external source without interrupting work, or even charging in the process. (A similar feature is also available in some mice with wireless charging, see "Features and Features" for more details).
Regarding solutions with a combined connection, it is also worth noting that such functionality further increases the cost, but provides versatility: you can choose the connection format at your discretion, depending on the situation. For example, most of the time such a mouse can be used in a wireless format, and when the battery is exhausted, it can be connected to a USB port and continue working while simultaneously charging the battery.
