This is the most popular modern interface for various peripherals, including mice, at least one USB port is available in almost any modern PC and laptop. The disadvantages of this option include the fact that such ports are used by other devices; so with a small number of USB sockets, connection may be difficult. However, such situations are rare, and they can be solved with the help of USB splitters. So most modern wired mice are produced under this connector.

Note that this category includes both purely wired and combined models (see "Type of connection") that also support Bluetooth or radio connection. And some of the wired devices with a USB connection are also equipped with an adapter for a PS/2 connector (see the relevant paragraph).
