Microphones with 3.5 mm plug (mini-Jack)
prices on 357 models— by itself, mini-Jack is a universal audio jack, used mainly in portable equipment (mobile phones, voice recorders), computer sound cards and consumer-grade electronics — music centers, DVD players. It provides an average signal quality, which is why it is poorly suited for professional tasks like studio recording; in addition, the "pure microphone" version of the 3.5 mm jack is relatively rare. Therefore, and also because of some other technical features, this connector has gained popularity mainly among vocal, computer and voice recorder models.
Note that mini-jack plugs for a different number of contacts can be used in microphones.
- TS. The simplest two-pin connector, suitable only for single-channel sound, although it allows the use of phantom power in condenser microphones.
- TRS. The three-pin connector is the most popular type. Allows you to work with stereo sound, although it is often used in single-channel models.
- TRRS. Four pin plug. It is used mainly in models for smartphones / tablets, camcorders and other similar equipment — such devices are often equipped with sockets for exactly 4 connectors. Stereo audio can be transmitted through this interface, but this capability is not necessarily supported.
