Low-cost power supplies are a rather dangerous category of goods. Because of the desire to make it cheaper, many manufacturers save where it was not worth doing. But not Seasonic. Even its entry-level products are difficult to label as "low-cost".

For example, Seasonic positions the S12 III series as solutions with a fixed cable system for assembling entry- and mid-level gaming and work systems. These power supplies are equipped with active PFC, resonant converters, have an efficiency of at least 82% (confirmed by the 80+ Bronze certificate) and have a couple of weighty trumps in their hands, which most rivals do not have.

The first is the use of a traditionally serious element base, which provides a relatively stable input voltage and a low ripple level. Thanks to it, power supplies are capable of delivering about 85% of the power on the main power line, and this is a serious result by entry-level standards. As well as a 5-year warranty from the manufacturer. Usually, in the low-cost segment, they are limited to two years of service.

The second trump card is the proprietary Seasonic Smart & Silent Fan Control intelligent cooling system, which has been successfully tested in the brand's flagship products for a long time. Even if in this case the cooling system is simplified in comparison with the Prime and Focus series devices, they have the same idea: with the help of a pack of sensors, S2FC provides a temperature balance inside the PSU case, optimizing the fan speed of the cooling system and minimizing noise.
