In the wake of the success of advanced power supplies from the Aorus series, the Taiwanese manufacturer Gigabyte decided to expand the range and at the end of 2021 launched a more affordable alternative in the form of Ultra Durable modular power supplies. Unlike Aorus models, they do not have a backlight or a trendy LCD display for displaying system parameters, instead, the emphasis is on a high level of circuitry, reliability of the element base using heat-resistant capacitors.

All Ultra Durable models have a high efficiency of around 90%, and their high level is confirmed by the 80+ Gold certificate. This status acts as a guarantee that the device meets the high power requirements with extremely accurate current and voltage compliance, as well as low noise levels. In fact, only specific titanium and platinum-level overclocker power supplies provide higher quality, but one is much more expensive.

The Ultra Durable series PSUs often have unusual tricks that are not typical of most competitors from the 80+ Gold class. In particular, in the GM model, a heat exchanger is used in the cooling system, which silently cools the device at a load of up to 20%. Further, a 120 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan is turned on, which ensures a low noise level. And the PG5 power supply has a separate line for powering the PCI-E 5.0 bus. Most models are represented by modifications with power from 650 to 1000 watts. The official guarantee can be from 5 to 10 years.
