HDR (High Dynamic Range)

— a technology that improves image quality in conditions of strong light differences in the frame — for example, against the sun or bright oncoming headlights. Roughly speaking, HDR lightens too dark parts of the scene and darkens too light parts, which allows to achieve a more legible image and better visibility of details. However, this is due to the fact that the camera takes several frames and combines them into one. In fact, this means that full-fledged HDR operation is possible only when the camera is stationary, and at high speeds, this function, on the contrary, can degrade detail. The advantages of HDR, in comparison with similar WDR, are simplicity and low cost.
