Amplifiers with bass control
— the ability to separately adjust the volume of low frequencies produced by the amplifier — due to this, you can change the ratio of low and high frequencies in the audible sound. It is believed that for different types of audio and even for different genres of music, the optimal options for this ratio will also be different; in addition, perception largely depends on the acoustics used, the characteristics of the room, and even the preferences of the listener. Note that low-frequency adjustment is practically never found in modern amplifiers — usually this function is combined with high-frequency adjustment (see below).
