— a dial in the form of an electronic display, on which the time is displayed using numbers (for example, "13:58"). In addition to time, almost any service information can be displayed on such a display, which makes it easy to use a variety of additional functions in the watch. At the same time, the digital time display format is generally considered somewhat less convenient than the use of arrows; therefore, watches with this type of dial are produced noticeably less than models with hands.

Electronic dials are found exclusively in quartz watches (see "Movement type").
