— a feature found on models where the hands on the dial are complemented by a display and/or additional scales.

One of the disadvantages of such dials is that in a certain position, the hands can cover the screens or scales, making it difficult to read the information on them. In order to remedy the situation, this function was developed. Its idea is that by pressing the button, the arrows diverge to a certain position, completely opening additional elements of the dial. Return to the original position usually occurs when the button is released.
