Watch without backlight

No lighting

For all its merits, backlighting is not really necessary in every case; moreover, refusing it may be a necessary measure. Watches that do not have this feature usually fall into one of the following categories:

- Image models used not so much for the sake of functionality, but as a fashion accessory. Especially often such models are found among women's watches, although there are also men's.

- Low-cost solutions, in which the backlight was abandoned in order to reduce the cost.

— Watches of miniature size, where there is simply no place for additional equipment.

- Mechanical models with thin hands. This option is in many ways similar to the previous one: there is simply no place on the hands for a luminescent coating, and even more so for tritium bulbs, and electronic illumination is not available for such watches.
