Chronometer

— the chronometer mark is placed on watches that have been tested by the COSC Swiss Chronometer Certification Centre and have received a certificate confirming compliance with the COSC's requirements for accuracy. These requirements are quite severe, and therefore such models can be called high-precision. At the same time, given the peculiarities of the use of most wristwatches, such accuracy is more an indicator of the quality of the mechanism and the status of the owner, rather than a practical necessity.
