Typically, such a system is set up in such a way as to compensate for the rumble in the microphone that arises from the wind or the breath of the athlete — without noise cancellation, this rumble could completely drown out other sounds. However, the settings can be more advanced. Anyway, noise cancellation can significantly improve the sound quality.
