Most of these compounds are classified as sealants (see "Type"), such additives work by clogging small holes and cracks. In addition, “ordinary” additives are also produced that have the same purpose: they are designed to restore the elasticity and performance of various sealing parts (seals, gaskets, seals, etc.) made of rubber or plastic. In addition, some of these compounds also contribute to an increase in viscosity (see the relevant paragraph): this is not their main task, but such an effect also helps to eliminate leaks.
