The specific specialization of such compositions may be different. Most of them are somehow designed to "improve the quality of fuel", but the direction of such an impact may be different. So, for some additives, cleaning and protective properties are claimed, some of them are actually flushes (see "Type"); others increase the octane number of gasoline and reduce engine wear; still others protect the catalyst from combustion products of low-quality or contaminated fuel, etc. Also, this category sometimes includes compositions for removing moisture from the fuel, although it is more correct to consider them separately (see “moisture removal from the fuel”).
