Almost all compositions of this type are intended for cleaning the fuel system, that is, they are flushes (see "Type"). They can be designed for different types of engines — both gasoline and diesel. However, with diesel engines there is a certain specificity, we will touch on it separately.

Firstly, for diesel engines, it is not so much flushing the fuel system itself that is particularly relevant, but cleaning the nozzles; a separate type of additives is produced for injectors (see the relevant paragraph), and many of them are also positioned as cleaning compounds for the fuel system as a whole. Secondly, there is a separate category of additives "for diesel systems" (see the relevant paragraph), and many of them are flushes. So a composition suitable for such systems can be found both in this category and in others that are similar.
