Amber

— natural amber is a stone of organic origin. It is formed from the resin of prehistoric trees, subjected to great pressure in the bowels of the earth. The traditional colours of amber are yellow and orange, but in fact, the shade of such a stone can be almost any. High-quality amber has no or almost no voids; there are also cheaper varieties, up to opaque materials that look like sea foam. Some stones have inclusions — inclusions in the form of insects or plant particles, which at one time got into the resin and were enclosed in amber; such inclusions give additional value to amber.

Many varieties of artificial amber are also produced — imitations from organic resin or plastic material.
