The Acer brand's line of large-format (17.3-inch diagonal) laptops represents the Aspire series, which in turn combines balanced portable PCs for study and work. The family includes both budget modifications and models in the mid-price segment. All laptops combine a relatively thin (20 mm thick) aluminium and plastic body, a large 17.3-inch screen with Full HD resolution, as well as an ergonomic backlit keyboard, a Num block and three additional keys.

The Acer Aspire 5 A517-53 laptops are based on the Intel platform, including integrated Iris Xe or UHD Graphics (depending on configuration) and a 12th generation Alder Lake processor. The top modifications offer a 10-core, 16-thread Core i7 engine clocked at 1.7 GHz, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM with the possibility of doubling as part of a user upgrade, and a 512 GB SSD M.2 solid-state drive.

The battery should provide 6 to 8 hours of maximum autonomy. Proprietary solutions aimed at improving the quality of video conferencing, including noise-canceling microphones, background blur and gaze correction technologies, also deserve special mention. Other features include a standard speaker system with two speakers and a good set of connection interfaces, including one Thunderbolt v4 port, three USB A (generation 3.2 gen1), a gigabit LAN connector and a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless module.
