A line of high-performance mid-format gaming laptops with 15.6-inch thin-bezel FullHD IPS displays with wide viewing angles. Distinguished by the original corporate design of a stylish case made of durable textured plastic and a highly efficient dual-fan cooling system. The top-of-the-line displays support up to 144Hz frame rate for incredibly accurate and smooth fast motion. The basis of the hardware configuration of the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-44 laptops is the performant 6- or 8-core AMD Ryzen 5/7 4600H/4800H processors with the upgraded Zen2 microarchitecture (Renior core, 7 nm).
They work in conjunction with 8, 16 or 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, fast NVMe SSDs and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 or 1650Ti discrete gaming graphics cards. Thanks to the advanced Turing microarchitecture, they are able to provide comfortable high frame rates in any popular games of 2015-2020 at high or medium-high graphics settings. Laptops of the line can play the role of a full-fledged mobile workstation for processing raster/vector graphics and ultra-high resolution video/photo materials. They will cope with the tasks of virtualization, rendering of photorealistic visualizations, the work of CAD / CAM / CAE packages and will be useful in software development processes.

A laptop can come in various configurations. What can I say about this model? It has an R7 processor, enough RAM, my unit didn't have Windows, but I went for better hardware instead, and installing Windows is not a problem. It has an M.2 SSD drive, which is better than a regular SATA one. The build quality is decent. I like the keyboard feel. It's quiet. Color rendition. Comfortable keyboard. Powerful. There aren't any, well it's not thin and light |
The laptop isn't bad; it has a great processor and an average graphics card. The cooling system handles the load well. However, it's not suitable for color work, as the color representation is too "off": the image skews towards yellow, and red clearly has an orangish tint, lacking overall vibrancy. Some colors can be adjusted with software. + Performance + Design (in my personal opinion) + Port placement + Cooling system - Display - No card reader |

Of course, there are also downsides. The main and only downside is the screen. There are some light leaks that disappear when you lower the brightness, and there was an issue with color accuracy. Fortunately, I managed to fix it using Windows tools. I don’t know exactly how accurate it is since I don’t have a calibrator, but the picture looks much better to me.
I also added more memory, now it’s 16GB. I also plan to add an M.2 SSD.
