Cool headphones for your money. I haven't heard anything better yet. Without an amplifier they will sound, but not as good as through an amplifier. I think anyone can rock it. 3-5k can be allocated for an amplifier for these ears, it will be enough for them. There are more highs and lows here, a V-shaped frequency response. Despite the fact that the Austrian company AKG produces mainly professional headphones for studio use, its products are well known to music lovers around the world. The recipe for success is rather simple and boring: instead of trying to make the best headphones of the year or the most effective active noise canceling system, they strive to give the buyer the best sound for their price.
Beautiful, light and really comfortable
The AKG K92 are full-size closed-back headphones in a pretty black and gold case. Outwardly, they resemble the professional K712 Pro, which cost almost 4 times more. It also uses a headband made of a pair of metal arcs with a leather strap with an elastic band, which, when tightened, adjusts the headphones to the size of the user's head. The strap clips are attached to the arches with a pair of screws, which, in which case, can be moved, additionally adapting the design to a very large or vice versa small head. Large ear cushions, covered with artificial leather, completely cover the ears. Plus, the K92 weighs only 200 grams, so we give them solid fives for both appearance and convenience.
Works with any portable device
Models are equipped with 40 mm drivers with high sensitivity (113 dB) and low impedance (32 ohms), so they can easily make friends with any portable player or smartphone. Despite the modest price tag below a hundred dollars, we can really talk about the neutral and balanced monitor sound of the AKG K92. Invariably accurate and legible at any volume, they qualitatively draw the sound stage with a tangible volume and a fairly clear localization of instruments. The main thing is to put the headphones on your head correctly, otherwise the sound picture can greatly float and be distorted. I also liked their attention to detail and the ability to find subtle sonic nuances that are characteristic of much more expensive studio models. Like most of the company's models, the tonal balance of the AKG K92 gives some preference to the lower part of the spectrum, which is not to everyone's liking. In our opinion, the bass here is just right. If you like a more driving and less scrupulous character, then we advise you to pay attention to the younger model AKG 72.
