Full-size professional studio headphones with an open acoustic design and a non-detachable cable. The manufacturer is positioned as a product of the middle price category, focused on use in professional or home recording studios. Given AKG's experience and authority in the studio industry, they are ideal for mixing, mastering, restoring, instrumentation and other audio work. Also, AKG K702 should be of interest to lovers of neutral sound without excessive timbre color, typical of household and Hi-Fi acoustics.

Traditional for this Austrian manufacturer, the model uses complex Varimotion drivers with a double-layer diaphragm and neodymium magnets, which guarantee a flat frequency response and a neutral analytical sound. The emitters can reproduce the frequency spectrum in the range from 10 to 39800 Hz, which is almost twice the capabilities of human hearing, and the modest impedance (62 ohms) does not require connection to a powerful amplifier or sound card.

A completely ordinary smartphone can swing them. The practical design of the K702 is focused on constant use in the studio: the headphones weigh only 235 grams, the proprietary self-adjusting headband sits firmly on the head, but does not press, and massive fabric ear cushions provide excellent ventilation even in extreme heat. The headphones are equipped with a detachable three-meter cable with a 3.5 mm mini-jack and a 6.3 mm adapter. Thus, they can be easily connected to any studio and consumer audio equipment, including smartphones, laptops, synthesizers, mixing consoles, drum machines, etc.

Legend number 700

The "seven hundredth" series has long been at the forefront of the new AKG headphone line, offering the user the latest technological achievements of the company, such as the two-layer Varimotion membrane, voice coils made of the finest wire and cables made of OFC copper with a purity of 99.99%. And in the early 2010s, AKG made a slight rebranding of the line, releasing an extremely successful pro-class model - AKG 702.

When every detail matters

K702 belong to the open type, and by class they belong to professional equipment. They have an unusually wide stereo panorama with a clear arrangement of instruments in the virtual space. The tonal balance is almost perfect, the top is conveyed in the smallest details, the middle is even and without coloration, the bass is solid and precise, with a sharp dynamics. If we talk about work in the studio, then the 702 will have an impressively smooth frequency response, minimizing misses in the spectrum. Of the genres, they are best suited for classical, hard rock and other directions in which the transmission of the smallest nuances of sound is important.

Replaceable cable and comfortable fit on the head

The appearance of the K702 is also memorable. The headband is made of thick leather, to which an elastic lining is sewn. The ear pads are height adjustable and can be freely installed at an angle. The open "cup" housings with replaceable rollers have a futuristic look. In practice, the headphones turned out to be very comfortable, although their fixation is weak, which is why they can be accidentally dropped from the head. But they have a replaceable cable.
