Model overview based on user reviews
The AMD Ryzen 5 Raphael series, including models like the 7500F OEM and 7600X BOX, is praised for its high performance and energy efficiency due to the new Zen 4 architecture. It supports PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 memory, offering enhanced data transfer speeds and performance. Users appreciate its stability and ability to handle demanding tasks, making it ideal for gamers and professionals. However, the processor can generate high temperatures, necessitating effective cooling solutions. While the price may be high for budget-conscious users, the processor is considered a superb choice for those seeking future-proofing with the AM5 platform. Despite some limitations in overclocking and memory control, the Ryzen 5 Raphael is a wonderful model that competes well with its peers, offering a balance of power and efficiency.

A good stone for getting acquainted with Am5.
9 April 2023
i've been using it for 2 months, here's what I can say. I'm fully satisfied, the chip is purely for gaming. I configured the curve, overclocked memory to 6000 CL30, reduced TDP to 80 watts, with boost up to 5450 MHz. If you compare it with its competitor, the i5-13600K, then Intel is more appealing in work tasks and synthetic benchmarks due to its smaller cores. However, it's a dead-end platform, while AM5 will still be viable for at least another 3 years.
Efficiency, boost to 5450MHz without overclocking, future platforms, L3 cache 32MB.
High temperatures (can be reduced with a curve and a few button presses in BIOS), lousy memory controller (memory above 6400 won't run), basically no overclocking, all you might get is 5500, and even that's not stable.

Good balance of price/performance/temperature conditions

A decent processor to start with AM5. In terms of performance, it surpasses the power-hungry AM4 (or is sometimes equal to it), but is much cheaper and has long-term potential on AM5. The CPU runs quite hot, so you'll need to pair it with a good air cooler and quality thermal paste. With a Frozn A410 and the included paste, it reaches up to 78°C under stress (in stock mode, without undervolting or curve adjustments). I got it alongside a 5060, which is considered an ideal match. Test results are in the photo; on low presets in CS2, for example, it can reach 700+ FPS, and in competitive modes, it's consistently over 400+.
- price (ideal candidate when upgrading from AM4 or previous Intel generations)
- handles all modern games and can fully support a wide range of graphics cards (up to 4070ti/4080)
- easily supports 2K gaming and 4K (with modern GPUs)
- can work smoothly without undervolting with air cooling (from 200-220 TDP)
- not really

Ryzen 5 7500's Younger Brother

The AM5 platform debuted back in 2022, but even two years later, components for it remain quite expensive. Many gamers on a budget continue to build systems based on the tried-and-tested AM4. One of the most affordable processors for the new platform for a long time was the Ryzen 5 7500F. To boost interest in modern solutions, AMD released an even more budget-friendly model in 2024 — the Ryzen 5 7400F.

Six Zen 4 Cores with SMT Support

The Ryzen 5 7400F processor is equipped with six Zen 4 cores with multi-threading, has 32 MB of L3 cache, and a thermal design power (TDP) of 65 W. The "F" suffix indicates the absence of built-in RDNA 2 graphics, making it an excellent choice for those using discrete graphics cards. Compared to the Ryzen 5 7500F, this new model has slightly lower frequencies — the maximum boost is 4.7 GHz versus 5 GHz for the senior model. The 300 MHz loss is almost unnoticeable, especially considering the price difference — the Ryzen 5 7400F is nearly $50 cheaper. Additionally, enthusiasts can easily compensate for this with manual overclocking in the BIOS.

A Find for Thrifty Gamers

The savings not only affect the integrated graphics. AMD replaced the solder with thermal paste, which raised some concerns among buyers. However, in practice, the processor does not suffer from overheating: with a good cooler, the temperature in games stays around 75–80 °C, comparable to the Ryzen 5 7500F. In single-threaded Cinebench R23 tests, the Ryzen 5 7400F lags behind the senior model by an average of 5%, and in multi-threaded tests, the difference practically disappears. As a result, the Ryzen 5 7400F becomes an excellent choice for gamers looking to save money. If you don't feel like experimenting with overclocking or are concerned about heating, it makes sense to consider the Ryzen 5 7500F or the Ryzen 5 7600X for a small additional cost.
