I used the FX-4, it was an ancient processor but handled everything. I decided to upgrade my PC since I had some savings. Initially, I wanted to buy a Ryzen because the motherboard was suitable for future upgrades, but I changed my mind after reading AMD news. I wanted 4GHz and didn't care about the number of cores, and then I noticed this... 8 cores and a good frequency... 8 cores Overclocking potential 4GHz Price As with the last one, it consumes a lot and you need to replace the stock cooler immediately, otherwise it will burn to smithereens. Well, the DDR3 RAM and its speed are not that great... use AMD FX-9370 less than month |
It’s an excellent, albeit old, processor, I use it in 2020 and everything is ok, better than any new i3 and quite competes with the i7 2600-4770, depending on the game. I use it without overclocking, memory 1600 16GB. All games run on high-ultra settings. No friezes were observed. Very cold percent, maximum 40 degrees, under the cnps10x tower. There are no competitors for this price, especially with the current dollar. After PS4, the performance seems simply cosmic, heaven and earth. + the process is already 8 years old. Of course, it’s better to take new Ryzen, but the performance of the fx is completely sufficient even now. I will update it after the console generation changes. Price. 8 cores. No friezes. The stone is not very... I5 3470 bypasses this processor by 5 percent in tests... Although my i5 was considered obsolete back in 2019... Nothing Temperatures on the box cooler reached 90 degrees... With normal cooling everything is ok... use AMD FX-8350 BOX more than year |

Catch up and overtake
AMD FX-8350 is the pre-top model in the FX-8000 processor line. It is inferior to the top solution FX-8370 by only 100 MHz of frequency, and even then only in the Turbo Core auto-overclocking mode, but at the same time it costs significantly less. Moreover, the difference in frequency is easy to catch up and even overtake with manual overclocking thanks to the unlocked multiplier.
The Magnificent Eight
The main selling point of the FX-8350 is eight cores at a price that Intel offers just four threads. But it is worth noting that the cores of the FX-8350 are also not completely separate, but paired in two: with a common cache and an FPU module (floating point calculations), which is why the performance of each core is relatively low.

However, the latest games, like Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Battlefield 1, give out much higher FPS on a weak octa-core than on a powerful quad-core. And professional applications (photo, audio and video editors) get even more performance gains from parallelization. Perhaps the only serious shortcoming of the AMD FX-8350 is its strong heating (125 W), which forces you to urgently change a simple boxed cooler to a tower or "dropsy" cooler.
