Model overview based on user reviews
The Noctua NH-L9x65 is a compact active cooler designed for CPUs, featuring a downward airflow direction and a single 95 mm fan with a noise level of 24 dB. It is praised for its excellent packaging and high-quality assembly, along with a 6-year warranty. The cooler supports both Intel and AMD sockets and is equipped with a PWM speed controller. However, users have noted that while it operates quietly, it struggles to maintain low temperatures under heavy loads, particularly with high-performance processors. Despite being rated for a maximum TDP of 67W, some users report overheating issues, suggesting it may not be suitable for more demanding setups. The cooler is considered a bit pricey for its size, and some users feel it does not meet its specified performance claims, making it an unjustified investment for those with high-performance needs.
Pros
Cons
It's not quiet at maximum speed, but even with the processor under full load, you can only hear the wind passing through the heatsink fins. Excellent packaging and accessories, there is a mount for Intel and AMD. Very high quality assembled. 6 year warranty A little expensive for such a baby. I bought it for an Intel core i5-11400f processor, which is installed in a cramped case, dimensions: W×H×D 105×377×337, with one fan for intake, and a power supply for exhaust. So, when using the mother software from Asus in turbo mode, and this is with the processor fan speed in the region of 1600 - 1800 rpm, the temperature of the processor without load is 43 degrees, and with the slightest increase in load the temperature jumps. In modern games like Rise of the Tomb Raider it is already 65 degrees. When the housing lid is open, the temperature is 5 - 7 degrees lower. In some games the temperature rises to 70 - 85 degrees. And the saddest thing is that the processor does not pass any stress tests successfully, it heats up to 100 degrees in 30 seconds, and this despite the fact that the thermal package of the processor is 65W, and the cooler is designed for 140W, which is very doubtful. As a result, you will have to change the cooler to a more efficient one, and, accordingly, you will need a larger case use Noctua NH-L9x65 few months |
Do not believe those who say it fits high-performance processors. The maximum TDP of 140W is not true. I have an i74770k with 84W, a huge case, and additional fans. And it doesn't handle it. The temperature constantly spikes, and under heavy loads, the PC restarts due to overheating. - absence of noise does not meet specification. You need to change the cooler on the radiator to something more serious. |
