Great monitor for the money I paid (8735 RUB). I immediately connected it using the HDMI 1.4 cable, and freesync with 75 Hz worked simultaneously. Out-of-the-box settings were harsh on the eyes. The display had a yellowish tint, but by increasing from the standard 6500K to 8900K, I got a perfect white color in the video card settings. My video card is an RX574. Also, as soon as you take it out of the box, immediately go into the sharpness settings, otherwise, you will be disappointed with the monitor. The display is of good quality if you tweak the settings once. I also recommend setting the contrast to 75. The display is very bright. In night mode, all monitor image settings are available. Vivid Pixel and ASCR didn't suit me, but they might be fine for others. As for the built-in profiles, it feels like they were created by a Chinese student in a basement for his own eyes, honestly. In dynamic shooters like (CS:GO, Battlefield 1, Warzone), the glow effect wasn't noticeable, and the response time is excellent. If someone says this monitor is not for gaming, send them away; did ASUS put freesync here for no reason?!). I think that's all I wanted to say; I consider this monitor ideal for the price I paid (24 inches, IPS, 5 ms, working freesync, 75 Hz). Before purchasing, I watched a review in Russian, which lasts about 5 minutes, where the guy says freesync sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Maybe he got a defective one, but everything works perfectly for me. Oh, and about the display, they didn’t skimp here; if you adjust it, the colors are perfect. P.S.: Apologies for the text; I wrote it at night. I've been using the monitor for 3 days now. Freesync is working and 75Hz simultaneously (Sony 1.4 cable with internet, perhaps additional channels for internet provide some kind of boost, I don’t really know, I haven't noticed any breaks in Freesync). The matrix can be adjusted with the monitor settings (in the "night" profile all settings are available, and if set correctly, the colors will be perfect). I recommend a contrast of 75 but it depends on personal preference. Set sharpness to 100 immediately, otherwise you'll be disappointed. VESA is 100 x 100, while other monitors are only 75 x 75 in this price range. The stand has a rocking effect when touched. But I immediately put the Monique on the gas lift (raising up and down) so here I go, I don’t know. |
I recommend buying it, an excellent monitor for the price. I bought it from Citylink, ordered it on January 22, the monitor arrived on January 30. It’s not critical, but the store pushed back delivery dates several times, which was unpleasant. This may be due to the fact that the model is new and has not yet been put into stock. The monitor arrived fully functional. Good screen, great size in my opinion, well-built. Has G-Sync compatible and FreeSync. Sturdy stand. I didn't like the glossy finish. The buttons on the back of the screen are a minus for me, but maybe for some they will be a plus. Included is only a VGA cable, no HDMI cable. |
the best in its price segment all is great! no |
Not everyone needs 4K and 144Hz
As monitor sales statistics show, most people care little about the subtleties of image reproduction or the nuances of monitor colour reproduction. Here's my money. Make the size bigger, the picture more pleasant, the load on the eyes is less, so that it is comfortable to work or watch a movie. If you belong to this category of people, then pay attention to the fresh 24-inch model Asus VA24EHE.
IPS-matrix with W-LED backlight
Despite the classification of “gaming monitor”, we have rather a high-quality everyday model with thin frames, which is suitable for pairing with a desktop computer or a tiny ultrabook, the diagonal of which is not enough for comfortable work. The Asus VA24EHE features a 24-inch Full HD display. The display is based on an IPS-matrix with W-LED backlighting, a standard margin of brightness for this class and a fairly high contrast ratio. The monitor demonstrates a rich and colorful picture for its class, the default colour accuracy leaves much to be desired, but this is quite simply solved by choosing the modes and setting them up in the menu. In general, in terms of settings, it is rather “capricious”, in order to get the maximum, we recommend taking the time to adjust the picture. You will especially have to tinker with the display of black.
Fixed aim, FPS counter and other game features
It would be wrong to talk about a full-fledged gaming monitor, but several factors still allow the manufacturer to call this model a gaming one. First, its sweep frequency is 75 Hz. This is not a full-fledged 120 – 144 Hz, but not the base 60 Hz, as in conventional office monitors. Secondly, the matrix is moderately fast (response time is 5 ms) and supports the popular AMD FreeSync anti-aliasing technology, which prevents dynamic frames from being “torn” into pieces. Thirdly, as a legacy from more expensive Asus models, the hero of our review received several branded gaming features that allow you to display the FPS counter, timer and sniper scope on the display. Summing up, I would like to warn that Acer turned out to be a decent low-cost monitor, but you should not expect some kind of wow effect from it. Especially if you are attracted by the "gaming monitor" feature.
