B&W PX7 S2

The flagship model of closed, on-ear wireless headphones with an advanced ANC active noise reduction system, support for aptX/ACC codecs and the possibility of combined connectivity. The model belongs to the upper price segment and is the ideological successor to the flagship PX7 model, which in 2019 set a new sound bar for wireless headphones with ANC. It looks almost the same as the PX7: the metal headband is covered with genuine soft leather, the ear pads have a memory effect and are lined with soft nappa leather, the bowls rotate in any convenient direction, and the total weight of the structure is 307 grams.

But the filling of the headphones has been updated almost completely. The PX7 S2 features 40mm carbon-cone drivers that are positioned at a slight angle to the ear. They provide a combination of natural natural sound and ultra-fast response across the entire spectrum, with minimal distortion (harmonic distortion does not exceed 0.1%). Even when connected wirelessly and with noise reduction turned on, the B&W PX7 S2 is capable of producing detailed and balanced high-resolution audio.

The proprietary adaptive noise reduction technology has reached a new level and is now in no way inferior to the market leaders (Sony, Apple, Bose). It is interesting because it effectively cuts out ambient noise without in any way affecting the quality and character of the sound, without blurring the bass or creating a delay in signal transmission. ANS operates 4 microphones at once: two measure noise in the earcups, two react to ambient noise, then this data is processed by built-in ANC algorithms.

In contrast to ANC, the headphones support transparent mode, the Multipoint function and can work as a hands-free headset thanks to two directional microphones built into the earcups. The built-in lithium-ion battery provides up to 30 hours of autonomous sound (with the ANC function active) and supports fast charging technology (15 minutes of connection to the charger provides 7 hours of operation). As an alternative to a wireless connection, you can use the good old 3.5 mm minijack audio cable. For convenience, the cable is made removable.
