Reliable and durable saw for the owner of a private house

The “green” line of Bosch is, as you know, a series of tools designed for do-it-yourselfers. Therefore, even one look at the body colour of the Bosch AdvancedRecip 18 saw is enough to determine that it has moderate characteristics: nothing special, but quite enough for most household tasks.

Not impressive, but not disappointing

The characteristics of the hacksaw (cutting depth up to 100 mm for wood and up to 20 mm for metal and hard polymers) make it possible to use the saw not only to cut branches in the garden. If you yourself are engaged in repairs at home or in the country, then with its help you can, for example, saw boards for a roof sheathing and cut a metal profile for a frame for wall cladding. It cuts wood, plywood, plastic sheeting, steel, copper and PVC pipes well. The main thing is to choose the right file (the attachment mechanism allows you to use Bosch branded blades and equipment from other manufacturers).

Is it worth paying more? Quite possible

The saw is light and compact (due to the transverse engine). It is comfortable to hold with one hand or a two-handed grip, depending on what kind of work you are doing and how you get to the cutting point in hard-to-reach places. The tool is well balanced and features low vibration during operation.

Almost the only aspect that can scare off a potential buyer is the overpriced hacksaw (with such performance characteristics, you can find a tool much cheaper). But Bosch is Bosch, and even the “green” tool of this brand has decent performance and sawing depth, which is enough for work at home and in the garden, and lasts a long time with not too intensive use.
