Additional features digital camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II kit 50:
Canon has announced the release of a new full-frame 21.1-megapixel EOS 5D Mark II camera. This is the first model in the EOS series to support Full HD video.
The EOS 5D's compact, lightweight and rugged successor is Canon's innovative CMOS sensor. Thanks to its high ISO sensitivity (up to 25600), EOS 5D Mark II users can take photos in near total darkness. The new DIGIC 4 processor produces images of the same quality as medium format cameras at 3.9 frames per second for 310 frames in continuous shooting.
The HD video function is called up in Live View mode and allows you to continuously record at 1080 resolution at 30 frames per second, obtaining excellent quality footage with an outstanding level of detail and realism.
The integration of this option into a high-quality 21.1-megapixel camera opens up new horizons for photojournalists. A full-frame CMOS sensor and exceptionally high ISO sensitivity make the EOS 5D Mark II the perfect choice for anyone looking for the best on the market. It can be used in any situation, whether it's working in the studio or at celebrations, shooting nature or travel photography.
Other improvements to this model include:
The EOS 5D Mark II's innovative full-frame 21.1 megapixel CMOS sensor has an ISO range of 100 — 6400, expandable to 50, 12800 and 25600. Large 6.4µm2 pixels are designed to capture more light and ensure low noise levels throughout the ISO range. The dimensions of a full-frame sensor correspond to the frame dimensions of a 35mm film, and therefore the angle of view of a wide-angle lens does not change (as it happens in models with smaller sensors). The EOS 5D Mark II gives you more control over depth of field and features a bright, 98% viewfinder that's a pleasure to work with.
New DIGIC 4 processor
The high-performance DIGIC 4 processor with 14-bit A/D converter starts up almost instantly, delivers smooth gradation in solid areas (such as the sky) and accurate colour reproduction. In addition to HD video recording, it allows you to capture long continuous bursts of high-resolution JPEGs. The results of shooting can be viewed immediately. DIGIC 4 uses advanced noise reduction algorithms in addition to the EOS 5D Mark II's CMOS sensor producing images with inherently low noise levels.
HD video recording
The EOS 5D Mark II is Canon's first DSLR to feature Full HD (1920 x 1080) movie production. Starting video shooting in Live View mode, the user has the opportunity at any time to take single photos or a series of shots, and then continue recording.

The new 3.0-inch VGA LCD screen features a wide viewing angle (170º). The clarity of the image is more than enough to check the focus during playback. The display brightness can be automatically adjusted according to the viewing conditions (dark or bright light) to extend battery life. The new Live View button displays the live image on the LCD screen, making it easy for EOS 5D Mark II users to take pictures even from unusual angles. The camera can be easily connected to a computer for remote shooting.
Accurate focus and measurement
The 9-point AF system is complemented by six invisible AF-assist points placed inside the spot metering circle. This improves the quality of subject tracking in Intelligent Servo AF (AI SERVO) mode. For fine-tuning exposure in difficult lighting conditions, the spot metering circle only covers 3.5% of the frame.
